Pendo is a Kenyan dating site for people who are serious — about dating at home, or about finding love abroad. We check every profile by hand, ask the questions that matter up front, and put safety first.
How we work
- Every profile is checked by a person.
- Before anyone goes live we look at every photo and answer. At least three real photos of the member are required — cars, wallpapers, celebrities and other people's pictures are rejected. The ID verified badge means we've also seen a national ID or passport.
- The honest questions come first.
- Single or married, children or not, working or not, drinks, smokes, would relocate — every member answers, and each answer has its own icon on the profile. You decide before the first message, not after the third date.
- No inbox games.
- Once you have a package or a 7-day pass, you get a member's WhatsApp, phone and email directly. No paying per message, no fake 'someone liked you' notifications.
- Love across borders, done carefully.

Romance scams target people on every dating site in the world, and international relationships are a favourite target. Know the signs.
Red flags — stop and report
- They ask for money, airtime, gift cards or crypto — for any reason, however urgent.
- They need you to pay a 'visa fee', 'customs fee' or 'lawyer' before they can travel or send for you.
- They won't video-call, or the camera is always 'broken'.
- They declare deep love within days and push to move the chat off this site quickly.
- Their story keeps changing: a soldier, an oil-rig engineer, a doctor abroad who's stuck.
- They ask you to receive or forward money or parcels for them.
Meeting safely
- Video-call at least twice before meeting.
- First meetings in a busy public place — never at their home or yours.
- Tell a friend where you're going and who you're meeting.
- Arrange your own transport there and back.
- For international relationships: meet in person before any talk of marriage or relocation, and handle visas only through the official embassy, never a middleman.
We will never ask you to send money to another member, and no genuine member ever needs you to. If someone does, report them — we act the same day.
What we are not
- We are not a marriage agency or a visa service. We don't arrange marriages, travel or immigration.
- An ID check confirms identity, not character. We don't run criminal background checks.
- We don't handle money between members, ever.
- We're not responsible for what happens after two members connect — take the same care you would anywhere.
